If you have ever wondered what goes into the unique process that Maker's Mark uses in its first-of-its-kind barrel program, here is your chance to see and taste your way through the process!
For those who are not familiar, Maker's Mark Private Selections begin with cask-strength Maker's Mark as the base. Then each barrel is specially fitted with 10 wood-finishing staves in their limestone cellar and aged for an additional 9 weeks. Where Private Selection separates itself from Maker's Mark 46 is the barrel customization using five different stave types. This results in over 1,001 different possible combinations.
Single Barrel Whiskey Club had the opportunity to create our own custom stave profile back in August and the pick is finally in! But we did not want to simply do a release party, we wanted to let people experience what we had the chance to do for themselves.
Come and enjoy a welcome cocktail, then sit down for an amazing dinner, where you will get the chance to try the base Maker's Cask Strength. From there, you'll taste the five stave profile whiskies. These are exclusive to the pick process and cannot be bought in stores. To cap it all off, you then will taste what SBWC made from those building blocks - our profile now known as "Melty Chocolate Toasted S'More". You will be guided through the whole process by Josh, who is THE Maker's Mark's Private Selection specialist.
